                David Love on radio re Narconon

There's an mp3 download link on the site, under the player window.
Direct mp3 link: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/god-di...-rehab-program-christian-survival-stories.mp3
The Narconon segment starts at around 11min25sec in. The echo on the hosts audio settles down by then but most of the callers still have a slight echo on their audio most of the time. Annoying but still quite listenable if a little "spacey". If you take some powerful psych drugs then it will cancel out and appear normal

This week on The Edge, Tom Smith interviews a victim of torture in scientology's sea organization. Drugging, beatings, encouragement of suicide, and emotional trauma are the tools of scientology's Golden Age. Listen Friday, 11 November 2011 and Sunday, 13 November 2011 from 2 - 3 p.m. eastern U.S. time on

Anonymous will post a link to a podcast after the show broadcasts.

I just spoke with Tom Smith of "The Edge".

The interview has been completed and is in the can.

But the airing of the show was preempted for mysterous reasons.

The interview is very powerful and Tom is making every effort to get it broadcasted ASAP.

Stay tuned.

                                                      UPDATE

As far as I understand it, Tom cannot release the audio or parts of it now due to agreements with the radio station.

Tom edited a couple of hours of interview down to about an hour to cover the allotted show time. It is in the second half of the broadcast that we will hear of Scott being beaten, walked to the top floor of the Complex and encouraged to jump twice, almost killed, drugged, you name it.

Although Scott to me seems to be a true believer in LRH "tech", something I am not, I fully support this program for exposing more of the real horrors found within organized scientology, not to mention the nightmare of the introspection rundown (in my opinion the dangerous attempted practice of medicine and psychology by people who at their best are completely incompetent in same not to mention unlicensed).

Whether ones agrees with Scott's views on scientology, the horrors and abuses are real and should be known publicly.

As for The Edge show being "mysteriously" interrupted or stopped, this is hardly the first time. I've been interviewed on The Edge four times, three of them recorded. The second interview and the first recorded was: http://xenutv.wordpress.com/2007/11/09/the-edge/

The interview was live right at the college station in Tampa with Tom. The fourth interview, with Tom in that same room, had both Bruce Hines and myself on the phone being interviewed. About 20 minutes into the interview (coincidently about the time it takes to get to the college station from OSA headquarters in Clearwater) someone pulled the outside fire alarm and ran. Tom had to leave the show in the middle of it.

Curiouser and curiouser said Alice.

Anyway, one way or another I am confident that this program will air and be made freely available on the internet.

    In follow-up to the interview with Marty Rathbun, Peter Boyle talks to former Scilon Lawrence Wollersheim who won a $9.2 million judgement against the cult.

    Lawrence offers some excellent insights and tells it like it is when it comes to Marty Rathbun & Mike Rinder. Independent Scientologists won't be happy with the interview.

    The interview with Lawrence begins at 20:30 and ends in mid-sentence at 37:33 (the interview ran past it's time slot and into the following 9:00 show.) Oops!

                            Scientology, An American Mafia

Portland radio host Jesse Singer really scored when he had on Mark Bunker and Jefferson Hawkins for two hours this past weekend , discussing all sorts of things happening in the world of Scientology right now.

I could listen to Hawkins and Bunker all day. These are not only two of the more knowledgeable Scientology watchers out there, but each bring a calm and intelligent clarity to the way they make the complexities of the church graspable.

I talked with Bunker after the show to ask him how the documentary is going. He says he's still trying to track down a few important final interviews before he can think about completing his project. If Bunker is trying to get you, give him a call! We all want to see this movie!

Sorry I don't do religions anymore

    This is an interesting and entertaining podcast which does not mention Scientology,

    but applies to the consumerism of religions in general,

    as I listened to this I couldn't help but compare the mindset to that of Scientology and why people stay in Scientology.

    The marketing techniques used of her 'second' religion should be somewhat familiar to Scientologists

    What she describes is the consumer mentality of religion.

    People have needs, and if you chose the right religion/product, your needs will be met.

    And it will not only supply your needs, but your identity, too.

    In modern America , what you consume = your identity.

    It's roughly twelve minutes long and well worth a listen

                      The edge ...U.S.A.

               Dr. Hugh Urban - Interview regarding Scientology on The Edge

    For your enjoyment and discussion, here is an announcement about the next edition of "The Edge" with Tom Smith which airs this Friday, May 4, 2012 as well as Sunday May 6, 2012:

    This week, Tom Smith interviews Dr. Hugh Urban, professor of religious
    studies at Ohio State University about his latest book, The Church of
    Scientology, A History of a New Religion. Dr. Urban discusses his very
    detailed and accurate scholarship of scientology and its founder, L. Ron
    Hubbard.
    This interview broadcasts Friday, 4 May and Sunday 6 May from 2:00 -
    3:00 p.m. eastern U.S. time on http://www.hawkradio.com and
    http://theedgewithtomsmith.com by clicking on the live stream link on
    those pages.
    After the initial broadcast, the podcast will be available for download.

    This is a great interview of a man who has done a very in depth study of scientology and its roots.

    Hear Doctor Urban discuss some of organized scientology's most notorious actions as well as some of Hubbard's, and scientology's, connections with the occult.

    In my opinion Doctor Urban has done some of the best study yet on scientology and he has no agenda but getting at the truth.

    I hope you like this interview as much as I did (I think you will)!

                                Kate Bornstein on Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard & Gender

Friday, June 22, 2012 | Categories: Arts, Books, Day 6 Blog |

Listen
Kate Bornstein is an outspoken transsexual activist and author of  "Gender Outlaw." In her new memoir, "Queer and Pleasant Danger," Kate opens up about her time as a high-ranking Scientologist the 1970's, as a member of the elite Sea Organization and first mate on L. Ron Hubbard's private yacht. Kate spoke to Brent about why Scientology appealed to her, her ex-communication, and her experiences at sea with Hubbard.

http://www.cbc.ca/day6/blog/2012/06/22/kate-bornstein-a-queer-and-pleasant-danger/

To listen you need to have Adobe Flash installed.

GREAT INTERVIEW! Kate says this after explaining how shattered she had been when thrown out of Scientology and forcefully disconnected from all her many friends and family:

"I quickly found out however that I enjoyed the company of non-Scientologists more than I enjoyed the company of Scientologists. Not to say that Scientologists are bad people, but to say they are DRIVEN".

"And, their priorities don't include YOU unless you are also saving the planet"!

It is funny, because after I routed out of the Sea Org in 1985, even though I occassionally was onlines at Flag for services, I happily lived a VERY non-Scientology life, with my own business, a home, with non-Scientology girlfriends and so forth. I NEVER liked the extreme dedication, "purpose", Tone 40 intention, and "gung-ho enthusiam" that Kate describes as being "driven". There was always way too much of that for me!

By the way, Kate is just so GENUINE of a person. THAT emanates form all she says and how she says it. That Scientology calls Kate "suppressive" says more about the idiocy of Scientology than it says anything at all about Kate. And, to me, Scientology, Hubbard and many Scientologists are just so disgustingly DISINGENUOUS.

Listen to the clip - it's only about 10 minutes long.

By Anna Schecter
Rock Center

Though Katie Holmes has not addressed reports that Scientology was a reason she split with Tom Cruise, a former Church of Scientology spokesman said some families, including his own, were torn apart when one spouse wanted to leave the religion.

“My wife, my son, my daughter, my mother….they disconnected from me.  They will not communicate with me,” said Mike Rinder in an interview with Kate Snow airing on Thursday, July 12 at 10pm/9c on NBC's Rock Center with Brian Williams.

Rinder joined the church as a child in Australia and rose to be Scientology’s international spokesman before he left the church in 2007.

He said he had been unhappy inside the church for a long time, but was afraid to leave because he said the church encouraged members to cut ties with relatives who want to leave.

“Part of that environment is keeping track of how people think…it’s a crime to …think bad thoughts about what’s going on and people will turn you in. Even your spouse will turn you in or your children will turn you in and then you’ll be in trouble,” he said.

When he finally decided to leave, he said he called his wife of 31 years and their two children and asked them to join him.

“The first thing that I did was I contacted them and said, 'Okay, I'm done.  I'm gone.  I'm in Virginia.  Please come and join me.'  And the answer was, ‘F-you.’  Literally,” he said.

In addition to losing his family, Rinder said he has been harassed by the church, an assertion the church denies.

“They've had private investigators follow me for months and months and months, everywhere I went,” he said.

In 1998, Rinder was on the other side of the fence, defending Scientology in an interview with Dateline.

"There isn't and hasn't been any effort which has been taken to quote silence critics," said Rinder to Dateline in 1998.

Today, Rinder says he frequently lied to the public in his role as a church spokesman.

The Church of Scientology says it does not encourage members to cut ties with relatives who have left the church.

In a letter to NBC News, an attorney for the church wrote that Rinder is, “untrustworthy, unreliable and biased,” adding that he is a self-promoter who is using a tragic personal matter to forward his own anti-Scientology agenda. The church denies following or harassing Rinder after he left the church.

The church has said Rinder abandoned his wife and their two children and has accused him of being violent towards his ex-wife and other members of the church.

NBC News could not reach Rinder’s ex-wife for comment.

Rinder said at times he was violent towards some church members prior to his separation from the Church of Scientology, but said it was all part of the environment inside the church.

Editor's Note: Kate Snow's full report airs Thursday, July 12 at 10pm/9c on NBC's Rock Center with Brian Williams.

                                            Narconon of Ga. Part One

By Pete Combs

Narconon is a non-profit organization that bills itself as an “alternative” drug rehab program. It’s not a 12-step program… some of its teachings are radical… and it’s been in trouble with state regulators in the past. Now… WSB’s Pete Combs leads a team of reporters from our partners at Channel 2 Action News and the AJC on an investigation of Narconon of Georgia… after the death of a young man whose parents are suing the rehab facility they had hoped would save his life.

Hear part one here

                            Narconon of Ga. Investigation Part Two

Yesterday....WSB introduced us to the story of 28-year old Patrick Desmond… who came to the Atlanta area from Florida in hopes of kicking his drug and alcohol habit at an alternative rehab facility called Narconon of Georgia. But what his parents were told was a secure inpatient treatment center turned out to be plagued with drugs and drinking. In the end… Patrick overdosed and died in June of 2008. This morning, in the second part of his investigation…  Pete Combs tells us Narconon of Georgia is accused of posing as an inpatient drug treatment program when it was nothing of the sort. Instead… the Desmonds say Narconon executives lied and faked documents in an effort to lure high-paying patients like their son.

                                          Narconon of Ga. Investigation Part Three

A young man comes to Atlanta for drug treatment and winds up dead of an overdose. His family is suing the facility he came to, saying it advertised itself as an inpatient rehab center. It wasn’t. They say its director promised to keep him safe, but didn’t. Where were state regulators when Patrick Desmond died? This week, WSB’s Pete Combs has been investigating Narconon of Georgia. Today, he wraps up his report with a look at what the Department of Community Health says about a rehab center that is accused of lying to get the business of high-paying patients like Patrick.

Listen out Part 3 here.

                                       Letter from Narconon Georgia Board of Directors

The following is an email sent by Narconon Georgia's board of directors in response to the Channel 2 Action News investigation.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From: Narconon Georgia
Date: October 4, 2012
To: Fleischer, Jodie
Subject:From the Board of Directors Narconon of Georgia

We are disappointed that the Channel 2 reports that aired in the last three days have been very misleading.  WSB News presented these reports as if they were based on recent news, when they arose from an incident that happened more than four years ago that is the subject of a current lawsuit.  We are especially surprised at what seems to be an attempt to try a case through the media, a practice, which to our understanding, is against the rules governing the actions of attorneys in the state of Georgia.

Contrary to your recent reports, the Narconon program is not about religion.  In fact, most of the students of Narconon Georgia are Christians who go to Church every Sunday.  Like other recovery programs, including Alcoholics Anonymous, we believe that faith is an important part of recovery and, while Narconon is a non-religious program, our staff have always encouraged our clients to practice their own personal religious beliefs.

Many people who work at Narconon understand the problem of drugs first-hand.  For example, Ms. Rieser experienced drug abuse in her own family 17 years ago and  was forced to face a situation that she and Narconon now help families face every day.  It is never easy as a parent to deal with a child who is abusing drugs and it is even more difficult to face the inner demons that can taunt one. “Was there something I should have done differently?”   “How could I have avoided this?” “Will it ever get better?”

The staff of Narconon, or of any rehab for that matter, know that ultimately, no matter what the cause of the addiction is, the success of any drug rehabilitation treatment program depends on the commitment and desire of the addict to recover from his or her addictions.  Any recovering drug addict will tell you that they know that the decision to stay clean is up to them.

This is why many Narconon students and families who viewed your recent reports have told us that they will continue to support us.  The vast majority of our students and their families know that our program is based on the facts of addiction treatment, education and recovery.  The sad thing is, many people really don’t care about drug addicts and have long ago written them off as some kind of scourge who are not worth helping.

However, Narconon and its staff have not and will not write drug addicts off, despite any and all efforts to try and convince them to do otherwise.  There are still too many that need real help.

The worn out and false allegations that you aired are also repeatedly stated by members of the “anonymous” group, made up of individuals who like WSB News, have never had any personal dealings with Narconon.

The real truth is that Narconon of Georgia is a fully licensed, outpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility.  Every single inspection by our state resulting from the false allegations you aired, claiming that Narconon of Georgia is running a residential rehab, have resulted in a DCH finding that explicitly rejects these allegations.

Narconon of Georgia has fully cooperated in every inspection launched by the state of Georgia and it will continue to do so in the future. The state has concluded in the past that there was insufficient evidence to support the allegations that Narconon was running a residential center, and Narconon is confident that any new inspection will yield the exact same results.

Both the state of Georgia and Narconon’s resources have been overtaxed by these repeated attempts by the “anonymous” group to divert attention off of our respective duties – duties that involve the welfare of others.  We consider this to be dangerous to our students and their recovery.

In contrast to the hate group “anonymous,” Narconon staff members continue to effectively help thousands across the world.  Sometimes, despite all efforts, addicts make bad decisions that turn tragic.  This is a cause of great sadness for all who worked with them and tried to help them.    However, it makes no sense to attack the people who try to and do help addicts on a daily basis.  We need more people helping addicts within our communities.  WSB News should not be trying to use four-year-old stories that are in current litigation to try to damage those who are doing their best to help individuals in our community who are addicted to drugs and alcohol.

The real story, which WSB chose to ignore, is that, according to CDC statistics, at least 100 people die each day from prescription drug overdose.  By way of example of the magnitude of the problem, according to a report by DrugWarFacts.org, the National Center for Health Statistics in 2009, 36,450 people died of drug overdoses and 23,199 died of alcohol induced causes.

We suggest that WSB News shift this public discussion to something that is based on facts and not emotion, and helps us and our communities to solve the problem of drug and alcohol abuse.

Sincerely,

Board of Directors

Narconon of Georgia

                                                      Narconon Part 4

By Pete Combs

Last week, WSB’s Pete Combs led a team of journalists from our partners at Channel 2 Action News and the AJC on an investigation into a drug and alcohol rehab facility called Narconon of Georgia. Billing itself as an alternative to traditional treatments, Narconon is based on teachings from the Church of Scientology and has been in trouble already with state regulators. In fact, based on our reporting, the Department of Community Health reopened its investigation of Narconon. This morning, Pete wraps up his look at Narconon of Georgia by taking a much closer look at its ties with the Church of Scientology, ties that until now, Narconon has denied.

Hear his report.

                                Superstar Women Slam Cult of Scientology for Abusive Crimes

    Scientology Crimes Exposed
    January 4, 2013
    By: David Love

Tonight on the God Discussion radio show with Hosts Al and Deborah, a group of prominent women from the USA, England, and France told their stories about being in Scientology for decades and subjected to “Billion Year Contracts” and abusive slave labour conditions and forced abortions.

Not so long ago, media would be in fear of airing a show such as this, knowing well that Scientology was worse than a rabid attack dog when anyone spoke out against their church. Brave heroes from past have faced lengthy court battles, the sting of unscrupulous investigators and cult legal teams determined to shut the mouth of any apostate.

God Discussion: “The “X-Women” -

http://www.goddiscussion.com/106024/this-week-on-the-goddiscussion-show-the-x-women-x-scientologists-that-is/

In the past few years, the flood-gates of Ex-Scientologists telling their stories without fear have snowballed and the relentless pressure from media has caused church membership to dwindle fast.
January 5, 2013 - The God Discussion radio show with Hosts Al and Deborah, a group of prominent women from the USA, England, and France told their stories about being in Scientology for decades and subjected to "Billion Year Contracts" and abusive slave labour conditions and forced abortions.
Superstar Women Slam Scientology for Abusive Crimes Pt 1/3

The hosts of the God Discussion show, as well as listeners from around the globe; many who called in, were stunned at what was voiced by the six brave lady guests from three countries. Indeed, heartbreaking and emotional stories.

Sautez (not real name), joined Scientology’s Sea Organization (Sea ORG), at 18 and that her family was destroyed by Scientology - - she now speaks out to save others from the same fate. Sautez was instrumental in helping the God Discussion host make this show happen tonight.

Show guest Nancy Many, spent 30 years in Scientology. She was in Scientology's infamous Guardians Office, the church’s covert intelligence entity. Nancy is the author of “My Billion Year Contract” and shared some of her experiences tonight.

Claire Headley was raised in Scientology from the age of four. She and her husband Marc, author of “Blown for Good”, sued the church over lost wages while in the Sea Org. Claire discussed Scientology’s forced abortions when she and other women become pregnant in the Sea ORG.

Tampa Bay Times Claire Headley story:

http://www.tampabay.com/news/scientology/defectors-claire-and-marc-headley-say-church-of-scientology-tried-to/1250163

Lori Hodgson, a former Scientologist who has experienced the nightmare of what Scientology does to families and how she experienced the horrific pain of her family disconnecting after she escaped the cult, joined the show live to share her experience. Tony Ortega shared Lori’s story and heart-wrenching open letter to her children on "The Underground Bunker" here:

http://tonyortega.org/2012/11/03/scientologys-policy-of-disconnection-a-mothers-open-letter-to-the-children-who-have-abandoned-her/

Nefertiti (not real name), worked for Scientology at their prison camps called “Rehabilitation Project Force” (RPF), when she ended up in the same prison. Fearing for her life and sanity, she escaped – with a price. She has not seen her children for 25 years. Nefertiti joined the discussion from France, where she speaks out against Scientology and cults in general.

The final guest was Sharone Stainforth from England, who was a personal child servant of L. Ron Hubbard (known as a “messenger”) when she was in Sea Org at 10 years of age. From London, Sharone shared what her experience was like, and how the Scientology experience has shattered her family. Her blog “Scientology – The Apollo Series”, is packed with information and more heart-breaking stories at:

http://theapolloseries.blogspot.co.uk/

Tonight’s show was obviously quite emotional for some of the guests and callers - - even for me when I called in after listening to how these women and their families were treated. Many described how their Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), still affects them today, with terrible nightmares and upset.

Most disturbing was the forced, coerced abortions, children separated from their parents, and disconnections when one family member leaves the cult and others remained. The so-called church forbids contact with those who leave and speak out.

http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Women_reveal_accounts_of_forced_abortion_in_Scientology

Scientology denies such abortion and disconnection policies, but the evidence is mounting that these courageous women are telling the truth in horrifying detail. One of tonight’s guest said she knows of one lady who was forced to have an abortion at a “term” of six months. As Claire Headley stated to St. Petersburg Times, "The policy was if a staff member became pregnant, that they were to have an abortion."

At the end of the show, there was a brief discussion about bringing together, women who have suffered these horrific events in Scientology - - supporting each other as much as possible.

Kyle Brennan's Mother Victoria to Speak Out

    In coordination with my dear friend Moarxenu I am making this announcement of a two-hour radio program featuring Victoria Britton.

    Victoria is Kyle Brennan's mother and is someone I hold very dear in my heart as one of the most beautiful, kind and gentle persons I have ever met and known.

    I have been waiting for months to announce her speaking out since I first posted about Kyle Brennan being anybody's child on here ( http://www.forum.exscn.net/showthread.php?28424-Kyle-Brennan-Anybody-s-Child ) and suggesting how we might all help give his mother's voice wings.

    We promised that although scientology seemed to succeed in preventing her story from being fully told in the courts, we would ensure her story would get out nonetheless.

    And now finally it begins.

    This follow's Moarxenu announcing this on WWP:

    The God Discussion Show has announced that Victoria Britton – whose son Kyle Brennan diedin Clearwater, Florida, the Scientology Mecca, under very suspicious circumstanceswhile visiting his Scientologist father -- will be the featured guest for the program’stwo-hour Friday, February 15 live podcast.

    Speaking publicly forthe first time, Victoria will share with radio host Deborah Beeksma her 20-year-old son's story: what he was likegrowing up; how Kyle, a non-Scientologist, felt about the Church of Scientology;and how he became a victim of the church's dictatorial "handling"mandate and its well-known war against psychiatry and psychotropic medications.

    Victoria will also talkabout Narconon, the Scientology-run facility that bills itself as a legitimatedrug rehabilitation center. Victoria's segment will last one hour.

    During the show's secondhour, ex-Scientologist Lance Marcorwill discuss "handling" and "disconnection", two ofScientology's most injurious policies; Dr.Stephen Wiseman will talk about the church from a psychiatrist's point ofview; and David Love will talk aboutNarconon - how the facility treats illegal drugs and medically approved medicationsas being one in the same, and post traumatic stress reported by participants inthe Narconon program.

    The Friday, February 15show will air at 6pm Pacific/7pm Mountain/8 pm Central/9 pm Eastern/times, and 2amGMT. The show can be accessed through the God Discussion Show page. A podcast will be posted at the site after the broadcast.

    Dr. Stephen Wiseman is a psychiatrist and the medical director of the Complex PainCentre at St. Paul's Hospital, Vancouver, Canada. He has researched andpresented on Scientology's relationship with psychiatry for many years,conducting workshops at both the American and Canadian Psychiatric Associationannual conferences.

    Dr. Wiseman is aproponent of evidence-based medicine, and believes that the fear andmis-information presented by Scientology about psychiatry over the years hasperpetuated the stigma against patients and their families and has been verydestructive to the cause of rational mental health treatment for all whorequire it.

    David Love,who was born on the West Coast of British Columbia, now resides in the Montrealarea. David formed a charitable organization in 1990 and was the director of arehabilitation center for substance abuse.

    David was both a patient and astaffer at the Narconon facility in the province of Quebec and is completing abook on his experience there. He has appeared on several God Discussion shows.
    Lance Marcor joinedScientology’s “Sea Org”, the unit comprising the church’s most dedicatedmembers, in 1978. Two years later, after arriving at “Flag Land Base”, the FortHarrison Hotel in Clearwater, Florida, Scientology’s spiritual headquarters,
    Lance was fully trained in thechurch’s “ethics policy”, a bedrock principle of founder L. Ron Hubbard’steachings, and put in charge of 300 staff members’ “ethics.” Lance left thechurch in 2007, and he is uniquely qualified as a former Scientology insider tospeak about the organization’s inner workings and little-understood doctrine,policies, and procedures.
    GodDiscussion is a site “for believers who don’tgo to church.” The views expressed on the site are not expressly denominational.It honors points of view from many traditions in discussion about God and howbeliefs impact families, government, and culture.
    For background we refer readers to the articleat Justice For Kyle Brennan - The death of 20-year-old KyleBrennan as an Enemy of the Church of Scientology.
    I intend to do everything I can to help spread the message from Victoria throughout the internet and elsewhere.

    It is the story that must be told and as we approach the anniversary of Kyle's horrible death at scientology's "mecca" it will now at last be told by the person who can best tell it to us all.

    Perhaps our government will not stop organized scientology from being such a great danger to our children but I submit that all of us mothers and father can and will.

    Let this be a new beginning of getting this story told. And I still recommend some easy ways in this link that any of us can help this happen if we wish :

   http://www.forum.exscn.net/showthread.php?28424-Kyle-Brennan-Anybody-s-Child

    For the sake of justice may we help ensure Kyle has not died in vain and his story is not lost to mothers and fathers everywhere.

    David Miscavige brace yourself.

    For Kyle.

    For a mother's love.

    And for great justice.

               Media Release: Scientology and Religious Cults Mental Suicide Show Tomorrow Night

One of the guests on tomorrow evening's God Discussion Radio show, Robert Robinson, spoke to me this evening about ex-cult members suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. "Horrific nightmares continue long after escaping" says Robert.

Robert was heavily involved with Scientology from 1988 to 1995, where he served in various executive positions, and recently launched a website "World Cult Watch", which exposes cults and abusive religions. His website offers insight about various cult teachings, delivers hard hitting stories about problems involving abusive, authoritarian cults, and aims to provide comfort for ex-cult members struggling with guilt, grief, anger and other emotions associated with spiritual abuse.

The featured guest on tomorrows show is Cynthia Mullen Kunsman, a survivor of many years of spiritual abuse at the hands of the remnants of an aberrant Evangelical Christian group. Cindy is considered to be an expert by many for her work on identifying spiritually abusive religions and cults.

Cindy is a nurse (RN, BSN), naturopath (ND) and seminary graduate (MMin) with a wide variety of training and over 20 years of clinical experience. She has used her training in Complementary and Alternative Medicine as a lecturer and liaison to professional scientific and medical groups, in both academic and traditional clinical healthcare settings.

She also completed additional studies in the field of thought reform, including the study of hypnotherapy for both chronic pain management as well as its efficacy in the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) that is often associated with cultic group involvement.

                               Three Ex-Narconon Patients and Staff Slam Scientology

Last nights' AxXiom for Liberty radio show slammed Scientology's cult drug rehab, Narconon, from several directions. Former Narconon Arrowhead president, Lucas Catton released a statement for show host Howard Houchen to read.

Well known for Hubbard's 'Fair Game' Policy, Scientology created a website recently, attacking Catton following his Narconon expose on NBC Rock Center.

I talked about Leah Remini's departure from Scientology with Janine Turner. We touched on Disconnection, Knowledge Reports and Scientology's targeting of celebrities. I screwed up the Milton Katselas story (which I hadn't expected to reference) so if you're interested in the actual story, here are a couple great reports from Tony Ortega:

                    This week, Rob Robinson wants to hear your story!

If you were a member of an abusive cult or destructive religious group, call in and share your tale and how you recovered from the experience (or if you’re still in recovery). Give an anonymous name if you wish.

Anyone with questions about cults and their practices are also welcome to call in.

Host Rob Robertson runs the “World Cult Watch” website, offering insight and hard-hitting stories about the teachings of various abusive and authoritarian cults. In his show and website, Rob also offers comfort for ex-cult members struggling with the guilt, grief, anger and other emotions associated with spiritual abuse.

                                           Free Winds or Stagnant Air? The terror continues.

Tonight! Sunday, November 24, LIVE BROADCAST: 7 PM Pacific / 8 PM Mountain / 9 PM Central / 10 PM Eastern

Continuing with their gripping story told on last week’s World Cult Watch podcast, ex-Sea Org members Scott and Karry Campbell return to discuss their experiences with Scientology (see the link for Scott and Karry’s respective backgrounds).
Scott and Karry served on the Freewinds, a cruise ship operated by the Church of Scientology where passengers received exclusive training for the highest level of Scientology.

Scott was “audited” by Scientology auditors (counselors) to the point of mental and physical breakdown. He was placed in a cabin in the New Mexico desert for a Scientology “therapy” called the Introspection Rundown – the same process that reportedly lead to the death of Lisa McPherson on December 5, 1995, in Clearwater, Florida.

Scott and Karry will also share what they have been doing since leaving. They welcome questions during the show and will do their best to provide insight and answers.
~~~
World Cult Watch, a weekly program that airs every Sunday night, is intended to not only offer news and information about cults, but to provide a forum where cult survivors — and those wanting to leave — have a chance to talk and receive emotional support. It is hosted by Rob Robinson, who runs the the “World Cult Watch” website. Visit the sponsor, GodDiscussion.net, for a schedule of upcoming shows, andGodDiscussion.com
24 th May 2014.
Published  May 2014
Jamie is a 'slam poet' and the great grandson of the founder of Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard. To say that Jamie has things to say about his great grandfather would be an understatement. Jamie's grandfather, Ronald DeWolf, helped build Hubbard's Scientology empire in the 1950s but later denounced him as a "fraud."
Jamie's mother and ex-girlfriend have been visited by Scientology agents asking about his references to Scientology in his poetry. As he put in his own words -- "In high school, a psychiatrist asked me if I had a history of mental illness in my family. I had to say...YES!"
                                                                              Scientology Unmasked
http://www.blogtalkradio.com/thethinkingatheist/2014/09/23/scientology-unmasked
Created by the late science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard, Scientology is a religion/cult which teaches that humans are actually immortal beings who, having forgotten their true nature, require intensive (and expensive) "auditing" techniques to rediscover their true, immortal selves.
Reports and allegations have been made, by journalists, courts, and governmental bodies of several countries, that the Church of Scientology is an unscrupulous commercial enterprise that harasses its critics and brutally exploits its members.
In this compelling episode, we explore Scientology's practices, and we hear from those who escaped its shadow.
                                           Georges Fenech interviewed about Scientology, Sept. 12, 2014
    Here, with English subtitles, is the video of a September 12, 2014 radio interview with Georges Fenech, who is currently a member of France's parliament, the National Assembly. Georges Fenech was president of France's cult-monitoring agency, MIVILUDES, from 2008 to 2012, and he was the investigating judge in the case concerning the 1988 suicide of Scientologist Patrice Vic.
    The first half of the interview is mainly about the investigation into Scientology's infiltration of the Arcadia building company. In the second half, a caller discusses the suicide of Scientologist Rémy Petit, and a second caller asks whether enough is being done against cults in France. Georges Fenech concludes by noting that the attention of public authorities seems to have lapsed, and he urges more vigilance.
No, not WFMU. We're a largely harmless cult. I'm talking about Scientology.
Tonight on Aerial View I'll be joined by special guest Tony Ortega, executive editor of Raw Story and former editor of the Village Voice, who's been investigating Scientology for twenty years and whose website The Underground Bunker documents the outrages of the "Church". Tony's new book - The Unbreakable Miss Lovely - is about the journalist Paulette Cooper, who exposed inner workings of the church only to experience Scientology's full wrath in a coordinated "Fair Game" campaign to ruin her life.
Tony can also be seen in Alex Gibney's Scientology documentary Going Clear (based on the Lawrence Wright 2013 book of the same name), debuting on HBO this Sunday, March 29.
After Hours AM
After Hours AM with guest Marc Headley
2 HRS 1 minute
Episode Info
Marc worked at Scientology’s secret desert compound, which houses all Scientology management, for 15 years, from the age of 16. The 500 acre property is located deep in the California desert. It is the location of a multi-million dollar home for L. Ron Hubbard, built two decades after his death. It is the home of Scientology’s current leader, David Miscavige, and a multi million dollar building built just for him. So what really happens at the Int Base? How does Scientology conduct management of its day to day operations? Since Marc wrote his book, many ex scientologists have come forward and corroborated Marc’s testimony of armed guards, weapons, staff beatings, and razor wire fences at scientology’s headquarters. How could a facility like this exist in modern day America? Hundreds of staff tried to escape over the years. Some succeeded but were never seen or heard of again, most failed. Why were people kept here? What really went on at the headquarters of Scientology? Marc is a published author and recognized human rights activist. His writings and public speeches have been broadcast on the Internet, TV & print media all around the world. Marc has been exposing Scientology abuses since he left in 2005, including attending governmental symposiums to educate officials on the subject of scientology abuse. Marc now designs and installs cutting edge audio visual systems for museums and memorial libraries across the US, He lives in Colorado with his wife and three sons.
                        Porkins Policy Radio episode 48 Aaron Smith Levin on growing up in Scientology
Porkins Policy Radio
Published on Apr 7, 2016
Today we are joined by former second-generation Scientologist Aaron Smith-Levin. Aaron became a member of the Church of Scientology at around the age of 4, after his mother joined up in Philadelphia. Aaron details his life within Scientology, from joining staff at age 12, to signing his billion year Sea Org contract in his 20's, to eventually leaving the cult along with his wife and children. We discuss what it was like as a child growing up knowing nothing other than Scientology. We discuss how Scientology is often contradictory and at odds with its own belief system, along with the posthumous influence of L Ron Hubbard, regarded by Scientologists as both god and man.
Later Aaron relates the fascinating story of how Patt and Annie Broeker were ousted by David Miscavige in the course of his quest to gain control of the group. We also discuss Scientology's dangerous and barbaric views about disabled people; Aaron describes the "superman" mentality of Scientologists and how they blame disabled people for their handicaps. Aaron explains that Scientology doesn't regard them as worthy of help, and explains the Scientological concept of "making the able more able." We round off the podcast with a discussion of the current state of Scientology -- Aaron and I talk about the involvement of Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam with Scientology, and what this means for the future. We briefly consider the rumors of OJ Simpson being a Scientologist, and Aaron notes some other interesting celebrities who dabbled in Scientology.
                               Startling new claims about the secretive activities of the Church of Scientology in Australia
There are startling new claims about the secretive activities of the Church of Scientology in Australia, including that the group held a decades-long grudge against Rupert Murdoch for the role he and his newspapers played in having the organisation banned in the 1960s.
'Fair Game; the incredible untold story of Scientology in Australia', by journalist Steve Cannane, also claims the Church sought to use Tom Cruise's recruitment of James Packer to get to his good friend, Lachlan Murdoch.
                           Investigating Scientology in Australia: Steve Cannane
Founded by science fiction writer, L. Ron Hubbard, the Church of Scientology is secretive about its practices, and famously litigious.
Members are strongly discouraged from speaking about it to outsiders, and punished if found to have done so.
Scientology was banned in three states of Australia for some time, but the organisation continues to attract members.
Steve Cannane is the ABC's European Correspondent. His first stories on Scientology were for ABC TV's Lateline.
During the past four years he's spoken with more than 200 former members of the church, and compiled a substantial expose of Scientology's operations in Australia.
Steve says the church's operations in the West have been decimated by the internet.
