Scientologist Leader Urges Censorship of Media: ‘Stand Up and Defend Our Religion’
Louis Peitzman

Marty Rathbun has long been a thorn in Scientology's side, but his release of an email by the Office of Special Affairs ("dirty tricks and propaganda") may prove especially troubling.

The email was sent to Ray McKay, whom Rathbun calls "a well-known OSA operative." In the email, the author, Daniele Lattanzi, refers to the Tom Cruise-Katie Holmes divorce and the negative attention it has brought to Scientology.

I am not a big fan of media, but you may have glanced the news of the split between TC and Holmes and all the speculations around. While this is a personal matter, when people start to bring our religion into the middle and a bunch of uninformed people start to spread false datum, rumors and defame our religion it became a matter that does affect my Dynamics and I believe that affects yours as well.

Well, I am not somebody that I am going to simply stand and watch a bunch of uninformed people putting my religion under the carpet. So here is a simple hatting on how you can causative fight back and at the same time stand up and defend our religion on the internet.

What follows is a step-by-step guide to censoring coverage of Scientology on the internet by reporting "abuse." Lattanzi suggests scanning TomKat articles for comments that "defame or degrade" Scientology. This concerted effort, he believes, will have an impact on stopping the spread of negative information.

Rathbun, who was once Tom Cruise's spiritual mentor before breaking off from the Church of Scientology, calls the attempt at censorship "like showing up to a nuclear war with a squirt gun."

Of course, officially the Church says they have nothing to do with the email. A spokesperson for the Church of Scientology responded—

An email from a Scientologist is no more from the Church of Scientology than an email from a Catholic is from the Vatican. This did not come from the Church or anyone associated with the Church, nor is it a Church plan.

On his blog, Rathbun has spent years documenting these attempts at censorship and subterfuge by Scientology — all of which are denied by Church officials. The harassment Rathbun has faced is supposedly the work of individual Scientologists and not condoned by the Church, something Rathbun is certain isn't true.

As much as the Office of Special Affairs would like to control the conversation, there's no avoiding the fact that the TomKat divorce has once again put Scientology in the spotlight. With reports that Katie Holmes was being followed, and that she left her husband to save their daughter Suri from growing up as a Scientologist, damage control will have to amount to more than merely flagging comments as abuse.

Katie Holmes Finally Tells Scientology How She Really Feels

You've got to admire Katie Holmes, the way she took control of her miserable life and turned it around in, like, 10 seconds. Just look at what she managed to do in a mere few weeks. She needed a new home for her and her daughter, and she bought it. She wanted out of her marriage, and she did it. Divorce done. She sought custody of her daughter, and she got it. Screw you, Tom Cruise, don't mess with Katie.

I never really thought much of anything about Katie Holmes before this divorce went down, but I officially LOVE this woman now. Especially, especially her latest statement against the Church of Scientology that has clearly been the source of much of her sorrow and angst these past years....

TomKat Divorce Settlement Details Emerge! What About Suri??

Earlier today, we reported that Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise had reached a divorce settlement, and now, we have some juicy deets about what it ALL entailed!

First things first — Katie is granted primary custody of six-year-old Suri. (Thank Xenu everything)

Secondly, as predicted, Suri will continue living with Katie in their apartment in NYC, with Tom getting visitation rights.

A source close to the case revealed:

"Katie insisted that Suri's nanny and bodyguards always accompany her when she visits Tom. Katie did this for several reasons. This will ensure a smooth and easy transition for Suri when she is with Tom.”

Smart move, Katie!

Since Tom only has members of the Church of Scientology working for him, Holmes wanted to ensure that Suri would be protected from the Xenu-worshippers when off visiting her dad.

On the topic of Scientology, the source goes on to state:

“Under terms of the settlement, Suri isn't permitted to be exposed to anything Scientology related and this includes going to any Scientology churches, parties, etc. Katie made sure that this was ironclad in the agreement.”

Phew! We are SO relieved knowing that Suri will be removed from the cult church!

We’re also glad Suri will have supervised visits with Tom, making sure that the terms of the agreement are met fully… without any funny business going on while Katie's away!

Tom Cruise Viewed as "Complete God" in Scientology, Ex-Church Member Says

Not a fan of Mission: Impossible? Well then, you might just be a Suppressive Person.

That's an exaggeration, but according to ex-Scientology member Amy Scobee, Tom Cruise is "viewed as a complete god" within the controversial religion.

Scobee spoke with E! News about her experience in the church....

MORE: Tom and Katie vow to keep Suri's "best interests" in mind with divorce

Scobee, who left the church in 2005, knew Cruise and ex-wife Nicole Kidman well, even hiring their household staff at one point.

So why is the actor so revered within the COS?

"Because of his influence," she said. "He was awarded the meritorious award of valor...He's viewed as integral."

For more on Scientology, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes divorce settlement, and more, tune in to E! News tonight at 7 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.

'We are committed to working together as parents': Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes reach divorce settlement behind closed doors - as she gets 'sole custody' of Suri

Katie Holmes' lawyer has confirmed her highly-publicised divorce with Tom Cruise has been settled, as reports emerge she will have 'sole custody' of their six-year-old daughter Suri.

It seems the couple have reached an agreement out of court, meaning the actor's beloved Scientology is no longer at risk of scrutiny with the religion's secrets being dissected during a trial.

Jonathan Wolfe said: 'This case has been settled and the agreement has been signed.'

Speaking to TMZ, he added: 'We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life.
Life in the spotlight: As she released a joint statement with estranged husband Tom Cruise regarding the dissolution of their marriage, the actress seemed to be in high spirits

We thank Tom's counsel for their professionalism and diligence that helped bring about this speedy resolution'.

According to TMZ, while Katie has sole custody of Suri, Tom will still get significant custodial time with his daughter.

Apparently the agreement also includes details on what Tom and Katie are allowed to tell Suri regarding religion, including Scientology.

The restrictions are eased as Suri gets older, the website reports.

'It was a carefully planned ambush': Katie Holmes 'fired Tom Cruise's daughter Bella from her clothing company two months ago'

A separate source, speaking to Radar, also revealed that Suri will remain with Katie in New York, where they currently reside, and will be accompanied by her own nanny and team of bodyguards when she visits father Tom on weekly occasions. However an insider who spoke to TMZ has disputed this.

The insider told Radar: 'Katie insisted that Suri's nanny and bodyguards always accompany her when she visits Tom... This will ensure a smooth and easy transition for Suri when she is with Tom.
Camera shy: The usually-attention loving Suri hid her face beneath a blanket as she stepped out the car

'Suri is Katie's number one priority. Tom only has Scientologists that work for him and Katie insisted that her staff will always be with their daughter.

'Under terms of the settlement, Suri isn't permitted to be exposed to anything Scientology related and this includes going to any Scientology churches, parties, etc. Katie made sure that this was ironclad.'

Suri will also not be expected to attend a Scientology school, like Cruise’s adopted children with ex-wife Nicole Kidman, Isabella, now 19, and Conor, 17, did.

Fingers began pointing even before reasons of their split came to surface.

And earlier today, the rumours circulating their difference in religious opinion, notably the Cocktail actor's rigid Scientology beliefs, appear to have been confirmed in a joint statement from the couple.

Released by their representatives, the notice states that they will continue to work together as parents and 'express our respect for each other's commitment to each of our respective beliefs'.
The show goes on: Tom was pictured on the set of Oblivion today after flying into Mammoth Lake Airport, California, in the wake of the divorce settlement

David Miscavige Blows Off Katie Holmes

Posted on July 16, 2012 by martyrathbun09 | 52 Comments

David Miscavige has no doubt by now convinced Tom Cruise that yours truly ought to be the target of his ire for Katie Holmes’ splendidly executed split and consequent historic media coverage.  After all, he’s already got Cruise’s attorney, the august Bert Fields, alerting the media far and wide claiming to be victim of me.

And just as certainly, as per usual, the real target is David Miscavige himself.

I have learned from very credible sources that David Miscavige quite in addition to infiltrating the household of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise and interjecting his insanity directly into Katie’s life through his undue and unnatural influence over Tom,  Miscavige also directly and intentionally saw to it that Katie received squirrel, reverse Scientology as explicitly covered in my book What Is Wrong With Scientology?

Katie’s introduction to Scientology was the Golden Age of Tech II (GAT II) pilot project run directly by Miscavige’s organization (Religious Technology Center – RTC) at the Celebrity Center in Los Angeles.  Katie was put at the top of the project’s line up as one of its first unwitting guinea pigs.  GAT II’s mission with respect to Tom Cruise’s wife?   Put her through Miscavige’s latest brand of Quickie Grades (for a complete explanation of what that entails, see chapter  6 Grades of my book What Is Wrong With Scientology?)

Miscavige’s only two tech trained staff (Anne Joasem – once Rathbun – and Elsie Tucker) personally oversaw every session of it and answered and reported directly to Miscavige, every step of the way.  Anne and Elsie cherry picked the processes to run from the huge body of tech for each grade, and Miscavige approved every individual one to be run on Katie.

So, there too is your Golden Age of Tech II news.  Apparently, based on his spectacular results with Katie, Miscavige announced recently he was going to unleash his suppression on the planet at large.

In a way, Miscavige did Katie a big favor. Had she been delivered standard grades she might have been more able to withstand the entheta Miscavige brought into her marriage and household.  She might also have attributed her wins to the Miscavige administration.  The net result would have been that she hang around longer and be effectively spiritually fattened up for a gruesome kill.

This is the conundrum of corporate Scientology and the reason why the ‘church’ of Scientology is dead.   You are damned if you and you are damned if you don’t in Scientology Inc.

The bottom line is four-fold:

a)  David Miscavige is a squirrel (someone who alters Scientology to the detriment of the people to whom it is applied).

b) Religious Technology Center (RTC) is a squirrel group.

c) Religious Technology Center is a suppressive  (sociopathic) group.

d) David Miscavige is a suppressive person.

Tom Cruise's attorney rips tabloids for divorce coverage

July 18, 2012

Tom Cruise's attorney criticized the tabloids Wednesday for their coverage of his client's divorce from Katie Holmes.

Bert Fields, who has been relatively quiet since the high-profile divorce unfolded, ripped the "grotesquely false claims" published in one magazine that Cruise had supposedly abandoned the couple's 6-year-old daughter, Suri.

"That, as anyone knows who saw their photos together yesterday and today, is a disgusting, vicious lie," Fields said. "Until this week, Tom was shooting a film on location [in Iceland], but he spoke to Suri every day. He’s with Suri right now; and he was with her the day before [the magazine]  trumpeted their cruelly false accusation. Tom dearly loves Suri, and the last thing he would ever do is abandon her.”

PHOTOS: Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes through the years

Cruise has been chased around Manhattan for the last two days by paparazzi as he whisked Suri from her home to his suites and to her daily gymnastics classes.

Cruise and Holmes reached a private divorce settlement, giving Holmes primary custody and Cruise visitation rights and a "meaningful relationship" with Suri.
A source, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk publicly about the case, said Holmes will have some voice in selecting the nannies who will accompany Suri when she spends time with Cruise.

PHOTOS: Celebrity splits of 2012

The person said the deal gave Holmes some level of control without appearing to monitor Suri's visits with Cruise.

The agreement gives Holmes the lead role in choosing how Suri will be educated, the source said Monday.

In an interview with CNN, Holmes' attorney Jonathan Wolfe praised Cruise's attorneys "for their professionalism and diligence that helped bring about this speedy resolution.... We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life."

With a prenuptial agreement governing the distribution of assets, talks between lawyers for Cruise, a prominent member of the Church of Scientology, and Holmes, who was raised Roman Catholic, centered on the role of Scientology in the upbringing of Suri, according to a person who was familiar with the negotiations but not authorized to discuss them publicly.

Holmes wanted guarantees in the settlement to ensure nothing is done while their daughter is with Cruise that would "alienate" Suri from her, the sources said.

'Scientology want to discredit Katie Holmes': Ex-Church member claims to have 'seen internal memos' on actress

She infamously 'blindsided' Tom Cruise by filing for divorce last month, leaving the Church of Scientology in a public relations nightmare.

And now the church is seeking to 'discredit'  Katie Holmes, according to a former member, who claims to have 'seen internal memos' on the subject.

'Katie would have been excommunicated normally, and behind the scenes she probably already is,' Scientology defector Samantha Domingo told The Hollywood Reporter.....

Katie Holmes Skips First Planned Public Appearance & Scientologists Get Blamed

Posted by Julie Ryan Evans
on July 29, 2012

his weekend Katie Holmes was set to attend a red carpet event for the Dizzy Feet Foundation gala in Los Angeles. It's a fantastic organization she co-founded that helps provide dance classes to low-income children across the United States. It was to be her first planned public appearance since her divorce from Tom Cruise, and it seemed like a good first step back into her work life. Only she ended up cancelling at the last minute.

The question is why? Some have speculated that it's because her security team feared the Scientologists. A source told Celebuzz:

Katie was really excited about attending the event, but in the end, her security team had concerns about the situation, especially the daytime event given it was being held in a public park. Katie is devastated at the turn of events. She was really looking forward to it.

The source went on to say that while security had been beefed up, still they couldn't "guarantee Katie's safety."

I'm sorry, I find the Scientology religion to be as baffling as anyone, but thinking that they're actually a threat to her seems like a pretty big conspiracy theory to me. What exactly would they do to her? Brainwash her and force her to take Tom back? It's a little late for that. Also, Scientologists are already eyed with enough suspicion; the last thing need is some big public scandal. And for all of their unconventional ways, they don't seem to be a violent set.

Nor is she hunkered away fearing their far-reaching grasp. Guess what Katie Holmes actually did do yesterday? She fed the giraffes with Suri. At the Bronx Zoo. In public. I'm sure security for that was a much trickier job that at a charity event.

Then last night, she had dinner in a restaurant with a mystery man (who turned out to be her attorney). She even spoke to paparazzi! And lo and behold, no Scientologists tried any funny business.

My guess is that her cancelling the appearance in L.A. had absolutely nothing to do with Scientology. Rather, I would bet it had everything to do with Suri and her well being. It's only been a month since the divorce, and to travel across the country with or without her, probably just felt like a lot. They're just getting settled in New York, and maybe she felt like the timing wasn't right.

Whatever the reason, it's her prerogative, and while I'm sure attendees of the event were disappointed she didn't attend, her true fans will surely understood. As for the Scientologists, they probably have better things to do anyway ... like perhaps tracking down Tom's next romantic victim interest.

Do you think Scientologists are a threat to Katie Holmes?...

Tom Cruise Exclaims "I'm Good" After Split From Kate Holmes, Pays A Visit To Scientology Centre

Posted on Sun Jul 29, 2012

It's been a very emotional few weeks for Tom Cruise, who has been dealing with the shock of the sudden divorce filing by soon-to-be ex-wife Katie Holmes, while also trying to film his latest action flick, Oblivion.

But the Mission Impossible star was all smiles as he stepped out for lunch with pals at Tony's Tavern in Malibu, on Friday afternoon, exclaiming to an X17 photog: "I'm good!" after enjoying his meal.

The 50-year-old looked every inch the movie star in a long sleeved white tee paired with jeans, tennis shoes and aviator sunglasses, as he made a beeline for the Church of Scientology in Hollywood after lunch, where he's been taking refuge after the split.

Katie and Tom's divorce was finalized within a matter of weeks, and while Holmes won primary custody of Suri, Tom has been granted regular visitation rights and is currently looking for a new place in NYC so he can be closer to his 6-year-old daughter.

Check out our exclusive video of Tom right here!

Katie Holmes' Still A Target For Scientologists, According To Church Spies!

Yesterday marked one month since Katie Holmes broke free from the reigns of Tom Cruise and the Church of Scientology, after she filed for divorce!

While things might seem good and well with Katie, it sounds as though the Church of Scientology isn’t finished with her just yet!

Ex-scientologist Samantha Domingo recently stated:

“Katie would have been excommunicated normally, and behind the scenes she probably already is. Internally, the wheels are in motion to discredit Katie. We have moles that are pretending to be good Scientologists who report back to us on the outside. I’ve seen internal memos about Katie.”

…Because that’s not creepy or anything!!

Since Katie left the church, she could potentially be declared a suppressive person, or SP, as Scientologists call them.

According to the church’s website, an SP is a person who is anti-social and seeks to suppress people…such as “Napoleon, Hitler, the unrepentant killer and the drug lord.”

Ah, yes…we’d DEFINITELY clump Katie into the same category as Hitler…! Seriously?!

Former Scientology spokesman Mike Rinder explained:

“Katie Holmes is probably the biggest suppressive person out there right now. Tom, if he were an ordinary Scientologist, would be ordered to disconnect from Katie and because Suri will be living with Katie, he couldn’t see her either. But because Tom is so high-profile, it would create a total furore if the public knew he was cutting Suri off. This is an example of the church at its most hypocritical.”

Interesting…

As we previously reported, Katie has made her return to her Catholic roots, by becoming a parishioner at the Church of St. Francis Xavier in NYC and even enrolling Suri into a private Catholic school.

Meanwhile, a source states that Holmes’ exit from Scientology is considered “the biggest middle finger Scientology has ever seen.”

Somehow, we don't think Katie cares what the Church of Scientology thinks — as long as she and Suri are happy and separated from its cult-like ways!

Scientology costs Tom Cruise two wives, Katie Holmes protects Suri

    Tom Cruise Scientology
    July 30, 2012

Tom Cruise, in his obsession with Scientology, has seen two marriages end. The Village Voice may have given us the answer as to why. We learned on Sunday, July 29, 2012, from their new series, that he “worships David Miscavige like a god.” Furthermore it seems that to survive in their church one must defer to Miscavige. Ironically, in an ABC News interview with Tom Cruise’s unauthorized biographer, Andrew Morton, he pointed out that it was through Miscavige that Cruise was introduced to Katie Holmes. In essence the Church of Scientology found her. The women with whom he was previously associated, after the divorce from Nicole Kidman ,were also said to be hand picked.

What happened with Katie Holmes must have come as an affront to the closed community. She not only rejected Cruise, but she conferred with his former wife, Nicole Kidman, to save daughter Suri from being indoctrinated into Scientology. Kidman lost both of her children to Cruise when he won sole custody of Isabelle and Connor, devoted Scientologists.

Kidman has never spoken about losing custody. However, it was well reported that she had little to do with Scientology. And based on The Voice series, this may not have pleased Miscavige.

The Village Voice

The interview series is with John Brousseau, described as a 32-year escapee from “the church's International Base east of Los Angeles in 2010.”

Brousseau often specialized in creating luxury vehicles for Cruise. He even carved a pen for Cruise out of a felled eucalyptus tree from the Scientology grounds to match one of his cars. When he presented the car and pen to Cruise and Holmes, The Voice reports:

"'Oh, JB, did you make that?' she asked me."

And Brousseau knew that as soon as she said it, Katie's question actually put him in a tough spot.

"I couldn't accept the praise. Miscavige was standing there," Brousseau says, referring to Scientology's leader and his former brother-in-law, David Miscavige.

Thinking quick on his feet, Brousseau blurted out, "Don't thank me. I'm just the hammer."

He then held out his hand to Miscavige and said, "This is the hand that wields me." Brousseau says Tom nodded, knowingly. Tom Cruise Worships David Miscavige Like a God: The John Brousseau story

Katie Holmes in New York with Suri, their Catholic faith

Instead of going into hiding, Holmes took her daughter to a very public place, New York City. There they have been badgered by photographers and we have seen Suri often hiding her face. But she has many faces, and is apparently enjoying play dates, the zoo, and ice cream parlors. Although Disneyland Dad took her on a helicopter ride, Holmes is attempting to give Suri a normal upbringing.

Enrolling Suri in a Catholic school means the opportunity to learn about the faith in which both Holmes and Cruise were raised. Additionally, she will have classmates, unlike previous years when she was home schooled.

                      Katie Holmes ‘hires confidence coach’

Actress said to be seeking boost after split from Tom Cruise

KATIE Holmes has reportedly hired a confidence coach to help get her back on her feet after her split from movie megastar Tom Cruise.

The 33-year-old split from the Top Gun actor - the father of her daughter Suri - earlier this year, ending their five-year marriage.

But Katie has apparently been left in need of a new direction since her break-up with Tom - a devotee of creepy cult Scientology.

A source told a magazine: "She foresaw an incredible golden future for her and Suri, free of Tom and Scientology.

"But the glow and radiance that surrounded Katie post-split seem to have evaporated.

"Katie is keen to find her own voice so she has sought professional help and has employed a confidence and life coach who she's been seeing once a week to help her regain who she once was."

Katie filed for divorce from 50-year-old Tom on June 27 this year.

Two weeks later the former Hollywood couple signed a deal giving Tom generous visitation rights of Suri.

Since then Katie has been getting her career back on track, bagging roles in new movie Responsible Adults and Broadway play Dead Accounts.

And she is said to be steering six-year-old Suri away from her trademark designer clothes, asking fashion houses to stop sending expensive gifts.

A source told a US magazine: “Katie has been returning unsolicited gifts and loans from designers for Suri since she arrived in New York."

But Katie's confidence is said to have been knocked since Suri's return from visiting dad Tom - where the actor pulled out all the stops to treat the girl, taking her on a trip to a Florida theme park.

Katie Holmes reportedly has no regrets about Tom Cruise split: Happiest divorced celebrity?

Katie Holmes isn't moping around after her divorce from Tom Cruise. On the contrary, she's "blissfully happy" just weeks after the split was finalized, a family insider tells RadarOnline.com.

"She’s been enjoying the company of her family a lot more, something she couldn’t really do when she was married to Tom. He controlled who she saw and he often wasn’t so approving of her family. And then there's the elephant in the room ... Scientology. "Scientology was a huge fear for Katie too," the source tells Radar. "She was raised a devout Catholic and never committed herself to it fully."
